Trevor Powell was born in the North East of the United Kingdom. He is qualified with a BSc (Hons) in Material Science specialising in Metallurgical Engineering. He gained experience in Africa on the Copperbelt in Zambia in both pyro and hydro copper refining plants, then worked on a copper nickel flash furnace smelter in Botswana in both project and operational roles. Emigrated to Australia in 1983 and gained experience in a number of metallurgical roles including a novel heap leaching project. Spent a number of years marketing specialised on-line process measurement technologies to international markets. Founded Ultra-Dynamics Pty Ltd in 1999 and has built the company into an internationally recognised supplier of a range of on line process measurement technologies across a wide range of mining and general processing industries. “If you can’t measure it you can’t control it” Married with two adult children and 5 grandchildren Hobbies – restoring vintage cars and aviation
