Tiago received his PhD in Tribology from the University of Porto in 2013 and has more than 15 years of experience in mechanical design, tribology, and bulk materials handling systems. From 2016 to 2023, he served as a Lecturer at the Federal University of Technology – Paraná, leading research and industry collaboration projects focused on conveyor systems, idler roll performance, wear reduction, lubrication, and materials engineering. Between 2017 and 2024, he coordinated research projects with VALE aimed at improving the efficiency, durability, and reliability of idler rolls and conveying systems for mining applications. From 2023 to 2025, Tiago was a Guest Lecturer at the University of Newcastle, contributing to industry-focused R&D projects involving conveyor belt performance, idler testing, and the development of experimental test rigs and analytical models. Since 2025, he has worked as a Consulting Engineer at TUNRA Bulk Solids, applying his expertise to improve the reliability and performance of mining conveyor systems. He has a strong academic record, with extensive internationally collaborative publications and industry-driven research outcomes.
