Bob Dunbabin, Principal Structural Engineer, brings more than 28 years of experience delivering complex infrastructure across the resources, ports and industrial sectors. His work history includes over 25 years with SEMF/COVA, where he has worked in all states of Australia, on projects handling products as diverse as bagasse, salt, grain, fertiliser, iron ore and coal. Since joining WGA in 2025, he has continued working in the bulk materials handling field, providing specialist expertise in the design and optimisation of conveying systems, stackers and ship loading equipment. Bob has led the structural and design management of major bulk handling projects throughout Australia, including ship loaders, conveyors and storage stacker systems. His work spans feasibility, concept development and detailed design through to construction and commissioning, with a particular focus on bespoke mobile machine design and systems operating under complex operational constraints. Recognised for his practical, solutions-focused approach, Bob also brings extensive experience in structural auditing and performance assessment of bulk handling assets across Australia. His strong technical leadership and collaborative style enable efficient, safe and innovative outcomes for high-value materials handling projects.
