Ashley Ng is Sales and Technical Lead – APAC at AMECO Group. His engineering career spans nearly a decade of research, forensic investigation, and field experience focused on understanding how mechanical systems fail and how their reliability can be improved. His path began in the laboratory through hands-on testing and postgraduate research into white etching crack mechanisms in bearings and gears, before expanding into broader mechanical systems, structural integrity assessment, and forensic engineering work, including expert witness testimony before the Singapore courts. This breadth led him to specialise in power transmission reliability, contributing to technical papers and training on standards such as ISO 6336 and ISO 15243. At AMECO, Ashley applies this grounding to bulk handling equipment, conducting failure investigations and residual life assessments on reclaimers, stacker-reclaimers, and shiploaders for operators including GPIC, QAFCO, SCG Thailand, Holcim Philippines and Pupuk Kaltim. He has also supported early project definition activities, including equipment selection, technical specification development, maintenance philosophy, risk reviews, and EPC technical evaluations. Drawing on close experience with operators, maintenance teams, and asset owners, Ashley brings a practical, field-tested perspective on how automation can reduce human error, improve safety, and extend equipment life in bulk material handling operations.
